FORT SMITH— Two families will be moving into their new homes in February thanks to a private-public partnership. Generations Bank owned two Northside lots and donated them to CSCDC. The homes were constructed with Fort Smith HOME Investment Partnership Act funds recommended last year by the Community Development Advisory Committee and subsequently approved by the Fort Smith City Directors. CSCDC has recently completed similar work on North 12th Street, North 28th Street, and North 6th Street.
The two families have moved into their new homes and received their mortgage from Armstrong Bank. Down payment assistance was provided by Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka and Arkansas Development Finance Authority.
